Laysea Lynn Wermter, 21, lifelong area resident, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Wascott, WI. She was born in Duluth, MN, March 10, 1998, the daughter of Michelle Owens.
She was a graduate of Superior Senior High School’s class of 2016. She served her country as a member of the Army National Guard, honorably discharged in 2018, and also worked as a logistics coordinator at Fleet Farm in Eau Claire.
Laysea enjoyed singing and loved the outdoors. She especially enjoyed tubing, camping, fishing, 4-wheeling and ice racing. Above all, Laysea loved spending time with her family and friends. She had an infectious smile that would light up a room. Her smile will always be remembered and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving mother, Michelle Owens; sister, Lynzy Beitel, Nisswa, MN; maternal grandmother, Vicki Verso, Superior, WI; maternal grandfather, Duane Rolstad, Bennett, WI; and her beloved feline friend, Leilo.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Patrick Owens, Eagle Point, OR.
A Celebration of Laysea’s Life will be held from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior, where a service of shared memories will take place at 2:00 PM. Following the service there will be a continuation of friendship with a fellowship luncheon at the Billings Park Civic Center, 3903 N. 18 th Street, Superior.
