Lee W. Reinke, 79, lifelong Duluth area resident, currently of Sheridan Road in Hermantown, MN, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, unexpectedly in his home.
He was born on July 3, 1929 in Duluth to Arthur and Ina (Lindfors) Reinke.
Lee served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict.
He was the founding owner and operator of Arrowhead Paint in Duluth for many years until his retirement.
Lee was a charter member of the "Lake Avenue Loafers" and previously served on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Duluth and also as a ski patrol officer at the Mont du lac ski hill.
One of Lee's greatest joys in life, was the family journeys to the Gunflint Trail where he built a cabin for his family and returned year after year throughout his lifetime. Lee also enjoyed going to the hunting shack in the Meadowlands area of Minnesota.
He is survived by one daughter, Lora Lee (Bernie) Voegtle, Hermantown, MN; two sons, Stephan Reinke, Proctor, MN, Lawrence (Rita) Reinke, Duluth; four grandchildren, Lawrence Reinke, Jr., Timothy Reinke, Michael Pyrlik and Jamie Pyrlik, all of Duluth and six great-grandchildren.
Lee was preceded in death by a special friend Dorothy Simonsen, his parents and one brother, Dean Reinke.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Ave., Superior, with Pastor Patrick Zeims, of Zion Lutheran Church, officiating.
Lee's grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
