Leo C. TePoel, 96, of Iron River, former longtime resident of Maple, WI, died peacefully, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, WI. He was born in Superior, WI, April 26, 1925, the son of John and Mary (Fisher) TePoel.
Leo married Beverly J. Denman on December 3, 1955 and they celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage before her passing in 2012. Together they ran the family farm in Maple for many years before retiring to Iron River.
Leo was a member of the Farmers Union and the National Farmers Organization. He enjoyed deer hunting and scrapping iron.
Leo is survived by his children, Pamela (Mark) Mohr, Traci Garrison, Iron River, WI, Jon (Tracy) TePoel, Maple, WI, Patricia (Keith) Borgh, Superior, WI, Collette “Cookie” Adolfson, Milwaukee, WI, and Edward “Skip” (Maiden) Carignan, Magna, UT; nineteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bev; grandson, Brandon TePoel; parents; two brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 11648 E. County Rd B, Lake Nebagamon, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made in Leo’s name to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon.
