Leon Joseph Stilwell

Leon Joseph Stilwell, 82, lifelong Superior area resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior, Wisconsin surrounded by family. He was born in Oklahoma on July 30, 1936 the son of Ora and Harriett Stilwell.

Leon earned his Master’s Degree in Education from UWS. He was employed by the Superior School District as a teacher for many years. Leon was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Leon is survived by his wife, Betty; four sons, Randy, Tim, Jeff and Brad Stilwell; two daughters, Joni Elstob and Cheri Stilwell; one sister, Pat Schwieger, Ames, Iowa; one brother, Bill Stilwell, Kansas City, Missouri; and he is also survived by relatives in Malaysia and England. Leon was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jeanne and Donna Mae; and one brother, Frank.

The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice and Twin Ports Health Services for their care of Leon and compassion for the family.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 17, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2516 East 4 ^th Street, Superior and continue until the 11:30 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father James Tobolski as celebrant.
