Leona Mae Hansen

Leona Mae Hansen, 72, lifelong resident of Superior, WI, died peacefully, Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born in Superior May 26, 1949, the daughter of Ken and Betty (Wickstrom) Stuart.

She graduated high school in Superior and went on to work as a medical billing specialist for many years.

Leona was united in marriage to Dean Hansen, May 17, 1969, and they were soon to celebrate fifty-three years of marriage.

She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior.

Leona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and was most proud of her family who will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Dean Hansen, Superior, WI; son, Dean Hansen; daughter, Jody (Adam) Behinia; grandchildren, Aaron (Arlene) Garcia, Kingsley Hansen, Annabelle Hansen, Cyrus Behinia, Cashius Behinia; and sisters, Lynn Snickers, Jill (Doug) Nyquist, and Toni Snickers.

She is preceded in death by her son, Donald Hansen, brother, Jim Stuart, and her parents.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street in Superior and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
