Leona Ronn, 81, lifelong Poplar area resident died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Lighthouse of Superior.
She was born Feb. 18, 1930, in Maple, to Laurence and Edith (Nutt) Edquist.
She had been employed as a waitress in various restaurants and a floral arranger at the Maple Co-op.
She was a longtime member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Poplar.
Leona liked crocheting, knitting and loved tending to her raspberry patch.
She also enjoyed music and working crossword puzzles.
Leona liked to go to rummage sales and loved to go shopping.
She was known as great bargain shopper.
She is survived by one granddaughter, Terri Jo (Lee) Harlock, Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Jadon Ford and Emma Leona Harlock, both of Phoenix; two sisters, Elaine Popovich and Bernice (Art) Carlson, both of Superior; two stepsons, David (Denise) Ronn, Valdosta, Ga., and Alan (Pam) Ronn, Omaha, Neb.; five step-grandsons; six step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Ronning; her second husband, Ernest Ronn; two sons, Terry and Larry “Joe” Ronning; five brothers and one sister.
Visitation will begin at noon and continue until the 1 p.m. memorial service Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church, Poplar.
Pastor Greg Gullicksrud will officiate.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
