Leonard "Len" Lee Brunette

July 30, 1948 — March 2, 2020

Leonard “Len” Lee Brunette, Sr., age 71, of South Range Wisconsin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, March 2, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Superior, July 30, 1948, the son of Alex and Ann (Hargarth) Brunette.

He was united in marriage to Debra Miller, March 8, 1980, and they were soon to celebrate forty-years of marriage.

Leonard spent his early years as an Air Born Ranger in Vietnam in the 75th infantry and shared his kind hearted nature while working at the Parkland Health Facility. He was a skilled pool player, known for his trick shots.  In later years he spent his time truck driving for Monson Trucking Company, and making truck driver safety videos.  He earned himself a million-mile safe driver award.  In his retirement years he could often be found with his lawn chair and diet coke facilitating remodeling projects, or playing ample games of cards with his family and friends.

Len is survived by loving wife and best friend of forty years, Debra Brunette. Cherished children Tammy (Steve) Johnson, Lenny (Kat) Brunette, and Elaina Brunette.  His adored grandchildren Hannah (Billy) Hursh, Cassandra (Mike) Schuman, Nathaniel Fuller, Carsen Johnson; Olivia, Ethan and Emily Brunette; Michelle, Jackie, Sarah VanPuymbrouck and his great grandchildren Auden, Easton, Zayden and Willow. Also close to his heart were brothers and sisters Margie, Larry (Eileen) Brunette and special niece and nephews always close to his heart, Ricky (Pat), Lonna, and Mike.

Len is preceded in death by son Tim VanPuymbrouck, mother and father Ann and Alex Brunette, sister Millie (Jerry) Cherney, brother Verne (Natalie) Brunette, mother and father-in-law Elaine and John Miller, and Kurt Wermter.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5 th Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service. Gary Banker will officiate. Please feel free to honor him by wearing your favorite Packers apparel.

Burial will be in Lake Nebagamon Cemetery at a later date.
