Liane V. Dalbec, 86, a long-time Maple, WI resident, died Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Northern Lights Nursing Home in Washburn, WI. She was born January 15, 1934 in Gaslyn, WI to Orlo and Electa (Wood) Bown. She graduated from Spooner High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Liane was a telephone operator for Wisconsin Bell before marrying Kenneth Dalbec in 1954 and raising their children. Later, she was a waitress and manager at the former Sundown Cafe in Maple, as well as a tax assessor for the townships of Maple and Lakeside. She was a dedicated member of the Maple Volunteer Fire Department, serving as a Firefighter and Medical First Responder. She was a member of Mission Covenant Church of Poplar, WI.
Liane is survived by sons, Dale (Janet) Dalbec, Superior, WI, and Lloyd (Lisa) Dalbec, Woodbury, MN; daughter, Annette Larson, Superior, WI; brothers-in-law Ronald Dalbec and Doren Daniels, and sisters-in-law Julie Dalbec, Jan Dalbec, and Oleta Bown. Her grandchildren are Alicia Thoulion and Casey Reichard of Louisiana, Justin Newbauer of Wadena, MN, and Liani Dalbec of Woodbury. Her great-grandchildren are Caydence and Gabrielle Strode, and Greysen Thoulion, all of Louisiana, and Zoe Newbauer.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth; her parents; sons, Jerome and Roger Dalbec; granddaughter, Cynthia Dalbec-Hill; sisters, Elois Clark, Vialis Marsh, Iona Fortun, Irene Daniels, and Marion Bown (infant); and brothers, Glen, Lorn, Vincent, and Hurley Bown.
Our family would like to thank the staff at Northern Lights Nursing Home for their dedicated, loving care of our mother for the past several years and their immeasurable compassion in her last days.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Mission Covenant Church, 5161 S. County Rd. P, Poplar, WI, and will continue until the 2:00 PM Memorial Service with Pastor Darrell Nelson officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in a private ceremony.
