Lillian L. Day, 95, Duluth resident, died Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Duluth.
She was born on April 17, 1919 in Kettle River, MN to Frederick and Amanda (Michaelson) Anderson.
Lillian was a salesperson for Fanny Farmer for twenty-seven years.
She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ for over forty years and was active in various groups involving the church.
She was most happy when she was around family, especially her grandchildren. She loved cooking and baking.
Lillian is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Rodney) Schelin, Duluth, MN and Cheryl (Richard) Byrd, Joplin, MO; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Joel) Ness, Jeffrey (Wendy) Schelin, Erick (Chong) Byrd and James (Michelle) Byrd; four great-grandchildren, Connor Ness, Alyson, Ethan and Eli Byrd and three step great-grandchildren, Sierra Robins, Bo and Jasmine Waletzko; and one sister-in-law, Sophie Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; sisters, Lucinda Nikkola, Elma Janeksela, Edna Doan and Helen Johnson; brothers, Charles, Walfred, Richard, Edward, Chester and Arthur Anderson.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center for their special care they gave to Lillian.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 1:00 PM funeral service with Pastor Kathryn Nelson of Peace United Church of Christ officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lillian’s name to Peace United Church of Christ.
