Lillian E. Saari

Lillian E. Saari, 84, longtime Maple area resident, died Friday, August 14, 2015 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Range, Wisconsin. She was born in Cloverland, Wisconsin on April 14, 1931 the daughter of Wilfred and Edla Alholm.

Lillian attended the former Central High School graduating in 1947. She was employed by Middle River Nursing Home and Bayshore Nursing Home as a nurse’s aid. Lillian was also employed by the Maple Coop as a Meat wrapper. She was a good baker and an excellent cook. Lillian also loved quilting and crafts.

Lillian is survived by her husband, Ernest; three sons, Dale (Donna) Saari, Maple, WI; Danny (Kay) Saari, Ashland, WI; and Daryl (Lynn) Saari, Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Lynsey, Liisa, Lonna, Deborah, Trent and Kayla; five great-grandchildren, Aydin, Averie, Isaac, Chase and Gunnar; and many, nieces and nephews.

Lillian loved and found great joy, spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Douglas; one brother, William who died in Germany at the Battle of the Bulge and one sister, Elsie Olson.

Visitation will begin 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in the Lenroot - Maetzold Funeral Home Chapel and continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Service with Gail Saari officiating.
