Linda Burr Moxley

Linda Burr Moxley, born on May 10, 1950 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Helen and Eugene Burr, Linda was raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She graduated Lake Forest College in 1972 and received her Master of Divinity degree from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago in 1975. Linda married George Moxley who predeceased her. Linda died on June 19, 2020 at Essentia Health- St . Mary's Medical Cen ter in Duluth, Minnesota.

Linda was an ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and a member of Chicago Presbytery and Presbytery of Northern Waters. Linda served as a chaplain at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and served many churches in Chicagoland and northern Wisconsin as an interim pastor and supply. She was a realtor in Chicago.

Linda had a group of friends with whom she maintained daily phone conversations until her final hospitalization. She loved music and singing. She was passionate about spicy ethnic food, cooking and care of her dogs. She was a fan of hockey, gymnastics, tennis and ice skating. Linda’s visits to Camp Saugatuck in Michigan and Ghost Ranch Conference Center in northern New Mexico were highlights in her life.

Linda worked for inclusion and justice in the Presbyterian Church (USA). She was sensitive to people who needed accommodations, pushing presbyteries and congregations to become more accessible and to provide healthy dietary choices for those attending meetings.
