Linda J. Ness

Linda J. Ness, 91, Superior, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. She was born in Faribault, MN on October 30, 1924 to Franklin and Camilla (Brahs) Kroehler.

Linda married Clarence “Bill” Ness on June 11, 1949 and relocated to Superior They celebrated 34 years of marriage before he passed away on May 15, 1984.

She had been employed as a secretary for Holden Insurance for 25 years retiring in 1989. Following her retirement she went to work at Downs-LeSage Funeral Home from 1990 to 2007.

She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and its Lydia Circle and the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the National Secretary Association, the Sons of Norway and was very active with the American Cancer Society and its Relay for Life.

Linda is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Warren) Tester, Andover, MN, Susan (Jim) Rink, Superior; three grandchildren, Matthew and Brett Tester and Matthew Ness; three brothers, Allen Kroehler, Blackburg, VA, Loren Kroehler, Maryland, Arden Kroehler, Henderson, MN; a daughter-in-law, Liz Ness Wobschall, Norwalk, CT and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Bill, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Timothy W. Ness in 2007 and a grandson, Michael Ness in 2013.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM and will continue until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Gullicksrud, officiating.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
