Lois Maria Johnson

Lois Maria Johnson, 89, of Superior, WI passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in Superior, WI with her loving family near her side.

Lois was born at home on January 28, 1934, in Chicog Township, Washburn County, WI to Wayne and Emma (Hustvet) Wilcox. She graduated from the Spooner High School Class of 1951.

Lois and Delphin M. Johnson were married in Shell Lake, WI on October 6, 1956. They celebrated 45 years together before his death in 2002. A homemaker, she raised her children in rural Superior. She was a member of Darrow Road Wesleyan Church for over 50 years, and taught Sunday school and Child Evangelism classes for many years.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Jeffrey, Seattle, WA, Julie (Frank) Zastera, Superior, Jon (Kim) Lindale, TX; grandchildren: Holly (Wayne) Osberg, Duluth, Jennifer (Adam) Kuhlman, Superior, Daniel (Stephanie) Krisak, Moorhead, MN, Nathan (Kristen) Krisak, Lake Nebagamon, WI, Cody (Cara) Johnson, Dallas, TX, Matthew Johnson, Tyler, TX, Jason and Cori Zastera, Superior, Noah Gagnon, Mahtowa, MN; and great-grandchildren, Gunnar Krisak, Grace Krisak, Bjorn Krisak, Hazel Kuhlman, Forrest Kuhlman and Jack Brown; brother-in-law and sisters-in-laws Arlen (Sandy) Johnson, Spooner, WI, Betty Johnson, Superior, and Myrna Wilcox, Minneapolis, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Emma Wilcox; husband, Delphin; daughter Dianne; brothers Bruce, Bill and Thomas Dale; and granddaughter Liita Gagnon.

Visitation begins at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, 4020 S. Darrow Road, Superior. A Funeral Service begins at 11:00 am with Pastor John Fleming officiating.

Pallbearers for the service will be family. Private burial is at Greenwood Cemetery in Minong, WI.
