Lois M. Lozon, 80, lifelong Superior resident, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in the Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Superior to Earl and Mary "Mae" (O'Connell) Silvernale.
She graduated from the former Central High School and had been employed as a legal secretary for Roger W. Cheever and also as an attendant for the former Parkland Health Facility.
She married Leslie Lozon on October 3, 1952 and celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage before he passed away on October 3, 2009.
Lois was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
She was a published song writer and a children's book author.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Penny) Lozon, Panama City, FL; Gerald (Kim) Lozon, Superior and one sister, Marjorie "Boots" Slanga, Twin Cities area.
In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George and Bob Silvernale.
There will be a combined Mass of Christian Burial for Lois and Leslie at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Saturday, October 17, 2009 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Mass.
Rev. Fr. Don Kania will be celebrant.
Burial will be in the Summit Cemetery, Town of Summit, WI.
Pallbearers for the service will be Peter Slanga, Willie Silvernale, Jeff LaPorte, Gary LaPorte, Roger LaPorte and Paul Ashley.
Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
