Lois M. Pettingill

Lois M. Pettingill, 87, Hawthorne, WI, resident, died Monday, February 15, 2016 at Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on November 26, 1928 in Superior, WI to Wendal and Claira (Bond) Jackson.

Lois graduated from the former East High School.

She was a wife and mother and after the children were older she was employed as a nurse’s aid with the Middle River Health and Rehabilitation Center for many years.

She married George Pettingill on September 24, 1948 and they celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage.

Lois loved to ice skate. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing.

Lois is survived by her husband, George; one daughter, Kandace Pettingill, La Mesa, CA and one son, Dave (Linda) Pettingill, Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Valerie, Brooke, Brittney and Stacy; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Mickey Pettingill, sister June Brown and brothers Robert and James Jackson.

Services will be held at a later date.
