Lora Lee A. Voegtle

February 2, 1960 — November 14, 2023

Lora Lee Ann (Reinke) Voegtle, 63, of Superior, WI, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN, after a long and courageous battle with thyroid cancer.

Lora Lee will be remembered for her larger-than-life personality. Also, as a caring, giving, funny, lively, kind, and charismatic woman who loved deeply. Even through her courageous battle she continued to share her strength, perseverance, and sense of humor with others. Her messages and love will be lived and passed on for the rest of time.

Lora Lee was a humble member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 33 years. During that time and with her dedication to the program, she changed the lives of so many. It is impossible to measure her contribution to the people in the AA community and all who were fortunate enough to cross her path in life.

It was in the rooms of AA in 1991 that Lora Lee met the love of her life, Bernard Anthony Voegtle and they were united in marriage on July 3, 1993. Bernie lovingly referred to her as his earth angel who gave him the greatest 31 years of his life and taught him how to save himself. “I knew the second I met you that there was something about you I needed. Turns out it wasn’t something about you at all. It was just you.” By Jamie McGuire

If you knew Lora Lee, you knew she was a force to be reckoned with! She was unbelievably strong and stubborn with an unbreakable spirit. A proud Norwegian, she was fiercely loyal and was always willing to help others when she could. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother (Nana), great-grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Bernard Anthony Voegtle; two children, Michael Pyrlik and Jamie Pyrlik; grandchildren, Devyn Erola, Bastian Pyrlik, Azarya Martin, Nashiya Martin, and Malayza Martin; great-grandchild, Kingsley Erola; brother, Lawrence (Rita) Reinke, and several brothers and sisters-in-law and their extended families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee, and Lorraine Reinke; her brother, Stephen Reinke, and her in-laws, Bernard and Kathleen Voegtle.

There are too many Lora Lee stories to be shared here (but all the good ones are highly inappropriate anyway). She will be forever missed by all that knew and loved her.

We will see you again in Valhalla! Where we will drink from the skulls of our enemies. Skål (Skoal)
