Lorain Lindquist

June 15, 1931 — April 11, 2010

Lorain Lindquist, 78, Superior, died peacefully on Sunday, April 11, 2010 in St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 15, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Thomas and Sadie (Allen) Roatch.

She married her husband “Sam” on May 11, 1955 and celebrated twenty-one years of marriage before he passed away in September 1976.

Lorain was a homemaker and a well known waitress in the Superior area at various locations throughout her life time.

Lorain will be remembered as a selfless mother with a heart of gold. Who always enjoyed putting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren first, especially her great-granddaughter “Nattie”.

She is survived by two daughters, Alice (Wally) Barnard, Superior; Penny Jo (Ray Janowicz) Lieble; two daughters-in-law, Cathy and Debbie; fourteen grandchildren, Tom, Kathy, Kelly, David, Loren “Sam”, Candice, Kyle, Jr., Lyle, Steve, Vanessa, Naomie , Zachary, Jacob and Samantha; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister, Selma Keup, Superior; one brother, Dallas Roatch, Markville, MN and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Byron “Sam” Lindquist, Lorain is preceded in death by three sons, Kyle and Lyle “Buzz” Lindquist, Tommy Lane; one daughter, Paulette Frikart, her parents; one sister Hazel Curtis; five brothers, Myrel, Marvin, Stanley, Stuart and Donald Roatch.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral. Visitation will continue at 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Funeral Service on Friday, April 16, 2010 in the Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Patrick Ziems, officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Lorain’s grandchildren and honorary pallbearers will be her great-granchildren.
