Lorelei Mae (Edman) Kelly

April 2, 1941 — February 14, 2015

Lorelei Mae (Edman) Kelly, aged 73, died peacefully on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015, at home, surrounded by her four children after fighting a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Lorelei was born on April 2, 1941, in South Range, WI, the daughter of Verna Iola (Botten) Edman and Leif Gustav Edman. Being raised in the country by the Botten family definitely made her a country girl and tomboy at heart.

Lorelei was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She taught her family to love and forgive unconditionally. Lorelei’s favorite thing was spending time with all of her family members, laughing till her tummy hurt. She loved cooking for her family, making crafts, swimming, finding bargains at garage sales, and was a complete movie and TV buff. Lorelei graduated from East High School in 1959.

In 1960, Lorelei married the love of her life, John Thomas (Tim) Kelly, and, together, they relocated to Sacramento, California in 1967. Lorelei loved the California sun and dedicated her life to being a proud wife to Tim and raising their four children. Tim preceded her in death in 1981. Their first born son, baby Timothy Patrick Kelly, also preceded her in death.

Lorelei is survived by her children, Patty Kelly, Mike (Dana) Kelly, Maureen Kelly (Marko) Cekic and Casey (Traci) Kelly. She leaves behind six grandchildren: Brendan Kelly, Andrew Kelly, Nick Kelly, Casey “Timmy” Kelly, Megan Stout, and Morgan Cekic. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Ramona (Edman) Wnek, Roland Edman, and Gwendolyn (Edman)(Rich) Chryst, many nieces and nephews, and numerous loving relatives and friends.

Lorelei had a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was eager and ready to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. She is now reunited with her husband, Tim; her baby son, Timmy, and countless family and friends that had passed before her.

A noon visitation, Saturday, May 9, 2015, will be held at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home at 1209 East 5th Street, Superior, WI, 54880, followed by an hour of sharing and storytelling beginning at 1:00 pm.
