Lorraine P. Kirschbaum

Lorraine P. Kirschbaum, 83, lifelong Superior area resident, died on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, unexpectedly following a lengthy illness. She was born on February 2, 1932 in Marquette, MI to Harvey and Pearl (Anderson) Bourdages.

Before relocating to a lake home in Lake Nebagamon, she owned and operated the family farm in Oakland where she was proud to have raised her nine children.

Lorraine previously attended Central Assembly of God Church.
She loved crocheting, sewing, fresh baking and romance novels and always stayed current with current events.

Lorraine is survived by seven daughters, Lana “Birdie” Lindgren, Linda Belanger, Glenda Bonde, Arlene Mclay, Anita Harris, Audrey Buchanen and Annette Kirschbaum; two sons, Benjamin Petite and Alan Kirschbaum; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Cleland, parents and one sister.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 12:00 PM memorial service with Pastor Shawn Sislo of Central Assembly of God officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.

Honorary pallbearers for the service will be David Piper, Alan, Travis and Kelly Kirschbaum and Calvin Mclay.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth for the exceptional care Lorraine received during her stay.
