Lorraine M, Lind, 85, of Iron River, WI, formerly of Duluth went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by family on Monday, April 7, 2014 at the New Brighton Care Center. She was born on September 22, 1928 in Henderson, MN to Herman and Marie (Zwirtz) Lieske. She graduated from John Rogers High School in Spokane, WA and attended superior State and University of Minnesota-Duluth.
Lorraine married the love of her life, Lauri Lind on September 11, 1948 and they celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Lorraine was employed as a lab tech at St, Luke’s Hospital from 1967 to 1983. Following retirement she and Lauri made their home in Alamo Texas and Iron River, Wisc. Lorraine and Lauri were blessed with four children: Lorey Kusnierek (Mike), Peggy Thomas (John), Michael Lind (Holly), and Betty Musolf; five grandchildren: Andrew, Richard, Janet, David and Mikko and 13 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Betty, her parents and brothers. Lorraine’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Lorraine was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iron River, a Girl Scout leader in Duluth, a member of the PTA for Lowell, Grant, Washington Junior High School in Duluth and the Chequamegan Cloggers in Iron River.
Visitation with be on Tuesday, April 15 th from 1-2pm followed by the Memorial Service at 2pm at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iron River, Wi with Pastor Kristina Jenson, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glade Cemetery in Oulu, WI.
