Lorraine J. Peterson

Lorraine J. Peterson, 54, Lake Dowling, resident, died Friday, October 3, 2014 of ALS at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth. She was born on February 2, 1960 in Superior, WI to Duane and Dorothy “Dottie” (Anderson) Anderson.

She graduated in 1978 from Superior Senior High School and from WITC in the Marketing Program. Lorraine was the owner/operator of the Shabby Shed in Superior. She married Michael Peterson on January 5, 1980 and they celebrated thirty-four years of marriage.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and the Tri Lakes Civic Club. She also was the Director of the local division of the March of Dimes. She enjoyed collecting antiques, going to stockcar races and to the Red Neck Yacht Club.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Nicole Peterson, Chippewa Falls, WI, Daniel (Tonya) Peterson, Superior, WI and Randine (Cody) Bunkelman, Bloomer, WI; five grandchildren, Ashton, Trent, Braylynn, Kasen and Hunter; her parents; two sisters, Nancy (Tom) O’Neill and Mary Kay (Brad) Roden, both of Superior, WI; father and mother-in-law, Ron and Carol Peterson, Solon Springs, WI; brother-in-law, Jeff (Mary) Peterson, Duluth, MN; sisters-in-law, Julie (Karen) Peterson-Spielman, Superior, and Connie (Randy) VanDriessche, Superior.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and an infant brother, Joseph.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, October 9, 2014 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior. Visitation will continue at 10:30 A.M. Friday, October 10, 2014 until the 12:00 Noon Funeral Service with Lay Minister, Gary Banker, officiating. Burial will be the Riverside Cemetery, Superior.
Pallbearers for the service will be Gail Rosenbaum, Twila Uotinen, Diana Saker, Karen Stark, Tami Holen and Candy Snyder. Honorary pallbearers will be Lorraine’s grandchildren.
