Lorrie Jean (McConnell) Madden, 68, lifelong resident of Superior, WI, died at home on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
She was born in Superior, December 1, 1955, the daughter of Roy and Jean (Fisk) McConnell.
Lorrie graduated from Superior Senior High School, class of 1974, then attained her associate’s degree in accounting, finalizing her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
She worked various jobs through the years from family owned restaurants to Clyde Iron, then later retired from Superior Water Light & Power after many years.
Lorrie was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge 606, and the Douglas County Genealogy Club.
She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan, and enjoyed a good game! She especially enjoyed being grandma to the young ladies of Girl Scout Troop #4461 and loved participating in their events. She was dedicated in her pursuit of her family genealogy and sharing that with them all. She enjoyed spending her time reading, crafting, puzzling, and crocheting.
Lorrie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children, Christina (Theodore) Ostern, Superior, WI, and Michael (Christina) Madden, Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Caroline Becker, Layton (Katie) Becker, Kylie Madden, Ryan Madden, and Madilynn Graczyk; sister, Jolene “Mary Jo” McConnell, New Richmond, WI; brother, Roy McConnell Jr., Elk River, MN, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Joan McConnell, brothers, David and John McConnell, and her parents.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Lorrie’s grandchildren will be recognized as honorary pallbearers.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Superior at a later date.
Memorial gifts in Lorrie’s name can be made to the Angel Fund at Cathedral School in support of Lorrie’s emphasis on education.
