Lou Ellen Alexson

In the early evening of May 11, 2022, Lou Ellen Virginia Alexson died at the age of 87 at Maple Ridge Care Center in Spooner, WI. Lou Ellen was the daughter of John and Leona (Triggs) Stotelmyer, born on July 24, 1934. She graduated from Martinsburg High School in Martinsburg, West Virginia in 1951. While stationed with the U.S. Army in San Francisco during the Korean conflict, she met her future husband Stanley Alexson while both were serving in the military. They married, while on leave, on October 30, 1954 in Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA. Together they returned to northern Wisconsin and raised their four sons.

Lou Ellen attended two years of secretarial training and went on to work for the State of Wisconsin’s Job Service in Superior, WI. After 34 years, she retired as Manager in 1992. She was the president of the American Business Woman’s Association and an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Maple, WI. She also appeared in the 1954 movie, Francis Joins The WACS. Upon retirement, Lou Ellen and Stanley enjoyed travel throughout the United States, spending winters in Texas with friends, but found the greatest joy watching their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and prosper.

Lou Ellen Alexson was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers, as well as her beloved husband Stanley. She is survived by sons Mark (Lynn) Alexson, Vance Alexson, Ross (Randy) Alexson, and Reed (Kim) Alexson; grandchildren Leah (Jason) Klobucher, Alayna (Justin) Beacom, Ashley (Chris) Haneca, Kayleen Alexson, Kristen (Mike) Naumann, Justin (Casey) Alexson, Adam (Cydney) Kelly; great-grandchildren Campbell, Elliott, and Macyn Klobucher, Reed and Luke Beacom, Ford Haneca, Haidyn and Clayton Alexson, with two more due later this year; and also her brother-in-law Steven (Peggy) Alexson and sister-in-law Marsha (Mark) Burdick.

A private family funeral will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022. A public graveside service will take place at the Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery in Maple, WI at 1:00 pm, for those individuals who are interested in attending. This will be followed by a celebration of life for both Lou Ellen and Stanley at their prior family home, now the home of Justin Alexson and his family, in Maple, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to Faith Lutheran Church in Lou Ellen Alexson’s name: 4641 County Highway F, Maple, WI 54854.
