Lucille Janette Shears

Lucille Janette (Husby) Shears, 94, passed away on December 16, 2009. She was born on a farm in Centerville, South Dakota on October 2, 1915 to John and Agnes Husby. The family moved to Allouez in 1926.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis C. Shears in 1974, her son Louis H. Shears in 1995, her sister Olga LaBoy, her brother Al Husby, a daughter-in-law Judy Shears and a great-grandson, Tom Krause.
She is survived by her son Robert (Beverly) Shears, daughter Karen (Dennis) Cochrane, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Lu loved playing cards, bingo and visiting the casino. She was wonderful baker and always had chocolate chip cookies for whomever stopped by. She also enjoyed, over the years, making literally hundreds of afghans for relatives and friends.
Private services will be held for her family, with Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home assisting them.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of their choice.
