Lucille Zukowski

Lucille Zukowski, 77, Superior, died Friday, April 26, 2013 in her home. She was born in Superior on January 28, 1936 to Ellsworth E. “Whitey” and Marcella M. (Nollet) Hanson.

She was a 1954 graduate of the former Central High.

She married Carl Zukowski on June 15, 1957 in Superior at St. Patrick Catholic Church and celebrated fifty-five years of marriage. After raising her two daughters, Lu became a jailer with the Douglas County jail where she was employed for over nineteen years before her retirement.

She was a member of the former St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Superior Women’s Bowlers Association. She enjoyed traveling, working with stained glass, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband Carl, Lucille is survived by two daughters, Carla (Mike) Waldholm, Proctor, MN, Cindy Denny, Superior and two grandchildren, Tim Waldholm, Superior, Kate Waldholm, Proctor; two brothers-n-law, Walter (Rene) Zukowski, Colorado Springs, CO, John Zukowski, Superior; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother James Hanson; her sister Lois Hanson and her son-in-law, David Denny.

Per Lucille’s request there will be no public services. A private family graveside service is being planned.
