Luella Archambault

Luella Archambault, 74, longtime Superior resident, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Hospice Unit in Duluth surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 7, 1937 in Coleman, WI to Leonard and Loraine (Altman) Rouse.

Luella married John Archambault on January 21, 1956 and they recently celebrated fifty-six years of marriage.

She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister visiting shut-ins.

Luella is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Kim (Cory) Gatzke, Superior, WI; sons, John T. Archambault and Robert (Julie) Archambault, both of Superior, WI and Brian Archambault, Tarpon Springs, FL; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Michelle, Kaylyn, Mathew, Rolando, Melissa, Paige and Spencer and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Janis (Don) Russell, Chicago, IL and Kathy (Ed) Christensen, Superior, WI; brother, Leonard Rouse, Jr., Superior, WI and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffery and infant son, Joseph Thomas.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Monday, April 9, 2012 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior with a scripture service to held at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church at 9:30 AM and continue until the 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.


Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

Pallbearers will be Tom Archambault, Dick Altman, John Gault, Steve Griffin, Ian Mattson and Tracey Murray. Honorary pallbearers will be Luella’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
