Margaret C. “Margie” Anecki, 88, lifelong resident of Superior, died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Encompass Assisted Living facility with her loving son by her side. She was born in Superior, January 1, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Cupora) Gella.
She was a 1949 graduate from the former Superior Central High School.
Margie was united in marriage to Alexander “Alex” Anecki, on June 16, 1951 and they celebrated sixty years of marriage before his passing in 2012. Prior to her marriage, Margie worked as a secretary for the Holden Insurance Company. In her later years, she worked as a secretary for the former St. Stanislaus and St. Cyril parishes.
Margie enjoyed gardening and helping her husband, Alex, with all of his wood carving shows. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Trish) Anecki, Superior, WI; daughter, Carol Brandt, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Bryan Anecki and Kristy Brandt; and many nieces and nephews; she was especially close to her three nieces; Mary Ann Jones, Geri Anderson, and Darlene Walker; and great niece, Debbie Latcher, who were all like her daughters.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alex; her parents; sisters, Mary Pollack, Julia Dyleski, Theresa Dembroski, Elaine Walker, and Irene La Valley; and brothers, Joseph, John, Michael and Frank Gella.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 E. 4 th Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. William Fider as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
