Margaret M. Mcginnis

Margaret M. McGinnis, 82, Superior, also known as Mugs & Marge, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the Villa Marina Health & Rehabilitation Center in Superior.
She was born on October 12, 1930 in Ely, Minnesota, daughter of Sandy and Mae Lindeborg.

Margaret was married to Helge Oaing, Red Wilbur and Jim McGinnis.

She was the former owner of the Trio Bar and Jimmy's Bar in Billings Park. She was also employed by Alpine Industries. Marge was a member of the Tavern League of Wisconsin and served as President of Superior-Douglas County Tavern League.

Margaret was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church in Superior and had volunteered for several organizations & programs which included, Billing Park Days, Harbor House, Foster Grandparents, Winners On Wheels, (a scouting program for children who are wheelchair users), Wheels for the World and served on the committee for the Dave Ross for Mayor Campaign.

Her special interests included spending time with her family and friends, especially if it was over a cup of Arco Coffee, playing bingo, politics and going out for dinner. Margaret was known for her willingness to always lend a helping hand. She would always light up when the great-grandchildren would come for a visit. Great Grandma Marge will be remembered for always having her refrigerator stocked with A & W Root Beer and of course when leaving, a candy bar from her candy dish and a big hug. Her smile, laughter and presence will be missed by her family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Helge, Wilbur & Jim, a sister Alice Lindeborg, son John Oaing and step sons Thomas and Dave McGinnis.

She is survived by her son Randy; grandson Shawn (Amanda Erickson) Oaing; great grandsons, Ryan and Rykar Oaing; sisters, Ruth (Charlie) Howe and Lora Mae Lindeborg; step sons, Michael and James McGinnis; step daughter, Nancy (John) Larson; her very special friend, Lynn (Dave) Ross and Marge's extended family, Alissa (Geoff) Frias, Andrea (Chris) Kubarek, Hilary (Troy) Lambert, Haley (Mike) Mains, Jon (Lidia) Bruckbauer and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2013 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior and continue until the 10:00 AM Memorial Service with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church officiating.
