Margaret Potthier, 93, longtime Alloueze area resident, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Superior.
She was born in Amnicon Township, Wisconsin on March 21, 1916 the daughter of Stans and Anscelina (DeMaere) Johnson.
She was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church; a member of the Belgian Club Auxiliary.
Margaret loved baking and making home made bread for family and friends.
She was employed by the O’Brien Oil Company in Superior as a bookkeeper for many years before her retirement and previously formerly worked for the former Drysdale Perry Photo, Alloueze Garage and the Howe McCabe Insurance Agency.
She is survived by one son, Jim (Jan) Potthier, Superior; one grandson, Ronald James Potthier, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Potthier, Minneapolis, Minnesota; two great-granddaughters, Zoe and Kenya Potthier, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mickey Potthier in 2001.
Visitation will begin after 5:00 PM, Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior with a Scripture Service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue at 10:30 AM, Friday, March 5, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Father Don Kania as celebrant.
Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery, Superior.
