Margaret A. Thompson

Margaret (Margie) A Thompson (Gucinski) of Duluth Minnesota passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from complications due to Alztimers. Margaret was born December 27, 1932, in Superior Wisconsin, the daughter of Frank and Eva Gucinski and lived in Superior Wisconsin.

Margaret married Rolf Thompson on June 23 ^rd , 1956, and lived in Superior, Wisconsin all their married life. They celebrated 60 years together shortly before Rolf’s death in 2016. Margaret loved her gardens and flowers and loved to have a beautiful yard for all to see.

She went to school at St. Adalbert School and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1951. After Graduation she went to work for the doctors at the East End Clinic with breaks for giving birth to her two sons.

Margaret was active in the church, attending services at St. Adalbert, St. Stanislaus and finally St. Francis churches in Superior, WI. She loved watching the Twins and Vikings as well as never missing a Notre Dame or Wisconsin Badgers football game. She loved watching figure skating, playing cards with friends, and fishing as long as her husband put on the worm and took off the fish!

She is survived by her children, Michael (Paula) Thompson of Duluth, MN, Scott Thompson of Apple Valley, MN, her Grandson, Christopher Thompson of Minneapolis, MN, her sister, Lucille Machones (Gucinski) of Superior WI, and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rolf Thompson; her sisters Dorothy, Gerry, Marian and brothers Eugene, Bernard, and her parents.

Visitation will begin at 4:00 PM, Monday, March 7, 2022, at Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 E. 5th Street, Superior, WI, followed by a Catholic Funeral Service at 5:00 PM with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as officiant.
