Margie Kaszynski

August 16, 1945 — January 24, 2012

Margie "Noni" (Negri) Kaszynski
Margie "Noni" (Negri) Kaszynski, 66, crossed over to heaven on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 with her daughters by her side after a six month battle with cancer.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lake Nebagamon, WI and was a woman who loved life, living and especially people!

Margie was born to Joseph Negri and Mary Chiarovano on August 16, 1945, in Peru IL; where she grew up and graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1963.

On January 28, 1967, Margie married the "man of her dreams" Bob Kaszynski. They created a family with two daughters, Debbie & Kryssi. They eventually headed north to WI, with a brief stay in Elk Lake, WI, before finally making their home in Lake Nebagamon, WI in 1977.

Married for almost 45 years, Bob & Margie truly celebrated life! They especially enjoyed hosting gatherings at their cabin and home, forever opening hearts and doors! As Margie would say, "every birdie welcome."
Margie loved nature and her gardens, tending to her flowers and her yard, often road tripping to various garden shows and places of nature.

Margie and her family loved to travel. Her favorites included Italy, England, Germany, France, many Caribbean islands and over 20 trips to Hawaii. She was able to complete her dream vacation with her family to Florida last year; experiencing the magic of Disneyworld with her grandchildren and dancing with her favorite character Goofy.

Margie loved to get to know the "spirit of the people" from the various places she visited, amassing a myriad of friends around the world. She also loved simply being "home" with her friends in Lake Nebagamon. There were no strangers in her world!
She believed in the power of relationships and connecting with others. Margie had the power to make people feel loved and valued by her interest in their lives. Her presence lit up a room and she will be forever remembered by her big, beautiful smile.

Margie was a big supporter of the arts! She had a blast in the '50s inspired Lake Nebagamon band, "The BeBops, " formed with friends for fun and laughs! Margie was in many plays, commercials and several feature films (Grumpier Old Men, A Serious Man, etc). In the late ‘80’s, she starred in the hilarious “Mary, Carol & Carol” television spots with her best pals, promoting UMD hockey, Grandma's Marathon and even a local political candidate.

Margie volunteered in her daughter's non-profit arts organization, and especially enjoyed her involvement if it meant being of service to others. Most notably, she was featured on HBO's "The Vagina Monologues" with her daughter, where they shared heartfelt stories of hope and healing.

Margie's most important and cherished role was becoming a NONI. She loved spending time with her grandchildren; Tayva and Tieryn. She enjoyed play dates with them and their friends; taking them to museums, movies, playgrounds, etc! She loved to cultivate and nurture these relationships. Noni's favorite toy was "imagination" and she was often found on the floor playing with the kids, joining their world.

She loved nothing better than being a Mom, surrogate Mom and especially Grandma "Noni" to her beloved Tayva & Tieryn.

Margie is preceded by her parents Joe & Mary Negri and stepmother Helen Negri.

She is survived by her husband Bob Kaszynski, Lake Nebagamon, WI; daughter Debbie (Adam) DeLisi, New York/Los Angeles; daughter Kryssi (Chad) Plasch, Lake Nebagamon, WI; granddaughters Tayva Plasch and Tieryn Plasch, both of Lake Nebagamon, WI; sister-in-law Joy (Tom) Murphy, Peru, IL; brother-in-law Jim Kaszynski, Thailand; Goddaughter Marija Anderson (Bobby Fox), Minneapolis, MN; brothers, Charles "Aaron" (Miho) Pell, Seattle, WA; and Kenneth (Deanna) Pell, Altamonte Springs, FL; and a myriad of cousins, family and friends.

Visitation begins at 1pm on Sat, Feb 4, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Superior, WI, 4315 E. 3rd St. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 2pm.

Following Mass, a visitation continues at the Lake Nebagamon Auditorium (11596 E Water Front Dr) beginning at 4:30pm. "A Time of Remembrance & Celebration of Margie's Life" begins at 5pm (Lake Nebagamon Auditorium).
