Marian R. Cooke, 84, Rogers, MN resident and formerly of Billings Park, died Friday, January 1, 2010.
She was born on March 26, 1925 in Detroit, MI to Vesta and Mary (Wellman) Lanning.
She worked part-time at the former St. Joseph’s Hospital in Superior and at Cathedral School. She was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Vesta and Mary Lanning, her husband, William Cooke, Sr., one brother and two sisters.
Marian is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (Tim) Hartigan, New Richmond, WI, Laurie Aiken, Superior, WI, and Mary (Tim) Hollis, Maple Grove, MN; five sons, William (Patricia) Cooke, Jr., Marquette, MI, Raymond Cooke, South Range, WI, Gary (Candy) Cooke, Elysian, MN, Kevin and Todd Cooke, both of Superior, WI; seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; two sisters, Helen (Tom) Mislevic and Shirley Lanning, both of MI and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2010 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made in Marian’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Cathedral School.
The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
