Marian B. Higgins

Marian B. Higgins, 98, lifelong East End Superior resident, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Saturday, October 18, 2020 at her home in Solon Springs, WI. She was born in Superior, December 27, 1921 the daughter of Stanley and Anna (Peplinski) Kostmatka.

Marian was united in marriage to Arthur F. Higgins, April 25, 1942 and they celebrated fifty-five years of marriage before his passing in 1997.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She volunteered for over ten years at the former, St. Francis Nursing Home in East End Superior. Marian enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles and most importantly, she enjoyed reading.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Kathy) Higgins, Solon Springs, WI; son-in-law, William “Bill” Riedasch, Solon Springs, WI; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and niece Barbara Wagner.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband; daughter, Launa Riedasch; son, David Higgins; sisters, Margaret Bannick, and Sr. Innocent, a Catholic Nurse and Nun; and three brothers.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 E. 4 ^th Street, Superior, and will continue until the 2:00 PM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. William Fider as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery.
