Marilyn C. (Thompson) Peterson, 88, longtime resident of Las Vegas, NV, died peacefully, Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Nathan Adelson Hospice Facility in Las Vegas. Marilyn was born in Superior, January 24, 1933, the daughter of Alyce and Kitch Thompson.
She was a longtime “North End” resident and businesswoman who co-owned Darlyne’s Lounge along with her sister for many years, and helped managed the family business, “Kitch’s Drive Inn” which was a staple in the community for many years. Though under new ownership, Kitch’s is now currently know as “The Kitchen” in Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Darlyne Kehoe, and Carol Novak.
Marilyn has been reunited with her son, Gregg Katzmarek, who died Friday, April 1, 2022, at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.
She is survived by Gregg’s children and her grandchildren, Holly Pimentel, Cody Katzmarek, and Jonathan Katzmarek; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Marilyn is further survived by her beloved husband of many years, Ross Peterson.
A combined Gathering of Friends and Family for both Marilyn and Gregg will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at The Kitchen, 805 N. 5 th Street in Superior from 1:30 – 3:30 PM.
