Marjorie "Marge" D. Larson

August 3, 1942 — October 30, 2011

Marjorie D. “Marge” Larson, 69, walked into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, October 30, 2011 with her loving family at her side after a two year battle with lung cancer.

Marge was born to John and Clara Ronchi on August 3, 1942 in Superior, WI.

Together with her parents and siblings she worked in the family business at Wentworth Lumber Company for many years.

She met the love of her life Charles Larson in July of 1962 and the two got married on October 27, 1962 and recently celebrated forty-nine years of marriage.

Marge’s family and friends knew her as the Blueberry Queen of Iron River, as she loved picking her many quarts of wild blueberries every year.

Among Marge’s many accomplishments in life she most recently owned and operated Marge’s Floral Design of Iron River for twenty years. She was also employed by National Bank of Commerce, Saari Stone Insurance and Iron River Headstart.

Marge and Charlie together had a band called the “Nite Life” where they enjoyed entertaining their community for fifteen years. Marge volunteered a lot of her time with the Douglas County 4-H and at the Iron River Elementary School.

She was a member of the Iron River Women’s Wednesday morning bowling league, and the Iron River Red Hat Ladies “The Country Clucks”.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents John and Clara Ronchi, sister Jean Bitner and a son Terry Larson.

She is survived by her husband Charles Larson, Iron River, WI; son, John (JoDee) Larson, Minong, WI and daughter, Jaydee (Warren) Beede, Iron River, WI; ten grandchildren, John Larson, Krystal Larson, Kailee Larson and Kaydee Larson, Jessica Grant and Sheldon Grant, Jacob Johnson, Taya Beede, Terra Johnson and Brooke Beede; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert “Bob” (Joyce Darker) Ronchi, John D. “Buzz” (Roberta) Ronchi, Tony (Margie) Ronchi and Randy (Kathy) Ronchi; sister, Mrs. Donna (James) Rusk;; an aunt, Mrs. Marie (William) Ronchi; brother-in-law, Tom Bitner and an abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marge was very proud of celebrating twenty years of recovery in AA this past April.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Sunday, November 6, 2011 in the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior with a Scripture service to be held at 6:30 PM.

Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 7, 2011 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Burial will be in the Poplar Cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service will be Marge’s brothers and sister, Robert and John Ronchi, Donna Rusk, Tony and Randy Ronchi and brother-in-law, Tom Bitner.
