Mark Tierney

Mark R. Tierney, 76, lifelong Superior resident, died Monday, December 21, 2020 at Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior, WI. He was born on August 6, 1944 in Superior, WI to Robert and Faith (Johnson) Tierney.

In 1962, he graduated from Northwestern High School in Maple, WI. He married Carole Rukavina on July 22, 1972 in Silver Bay, MN and celebrated forty-eight years of marriage before her recent passing. Mark worked for Kapus Erickson as the janitor for many years. After retirement, he became a crossing guard for the Superior School District for many years. He was lifetime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carole; parents and brothers, Tim, Peter and John.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Superior, WI.
