Marlene Hagen Peterson

Marlene Hagen Peterson, 77, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Superior Rehabilitation Center in Superior. She and her twin sister were born on April 17, 1941 in Superior, WI to parents Lawrence and Inez Hagen, on their mother’s 35 ^th birthday.  She graduated in 1959 from East High School and started her career in banking as a teller at the former Superior National Bank.  She married Rey Peterson on August 30, 1969. Soon she moved to Minneapolis where she was loan department manager at M&I and Wells Fargo Banks retiring in 2011.  Marlene enjoyed her pet cat, movies, reading and family gatherings in Superior.

Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lawrence (Buzzy) Hagen, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Jim Baker, brother-in-law, Francis Smith, mother-in-law, Gertrude Peterson, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is survived by sisters, Lois Smith and Joan (Charles) Everson, both of Superior, WI, Lillis (Lloyd) Murray, Salt Lake City, UT and twin sister, Marcia (Bob) Bliss, Hanceville, AL; brothers, Gene (Barbara) Hagen, Menomonie, WI and Bruce (Lois) Hagen, Superior, WI and FL; husband, Reynold, Minneapolis, MN; sisters-in-law, Lois M. Hagen and Walter Wolf, FL and Patty and Roy Trousdell, Duluth, MN; cousin, Terry and Kimiko Buxton, Alexandrea, VA; twenty-nine nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Should friends desire, memorials may be given to the Lois I. Smith Honorary Scholarship (Superior High School).

The family would like to thank the staff at Superior Rehab for their wonderful care of Marlene.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home and continue until the 2:00 PM memorial service with Pastor Victor St. George of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Superior.
