Marlys J. Sather

Marlys J. Sather, 86, Superior, WI resident, died Thursday, June 3, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospice in Duluth, MN. She was born on December 6, 1934, in St. Louis Park, MN to Charles and Viola Decker.

Marlys graduated from High School in North Minneapolis. She was employed as a Health Unit Coordinator at St. Francis Home in the Park for over thirty years. She enjoyed bowling and playing bunko. Her love in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marlys is survived by two sons, Michael (Lynn) Sather, Duluth, MN, and Patrick (Louise) Sather, Superior, WI; three daughters, Robbyn (Jon Meteraud) Stariha, Wascott, WI, Tammi Dailey, Superior, WI and Suzanne Olson, Superior, WI; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie Smith, and Sharon Quamme; one brother, Charles (Joan) Decker, CO.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John Sather, son, Mark Sather, sons-in-law, James Olson and Mark Dailey, sister, Janet Fabel, her best friend, Marge Olson and an aunt and uncle, Rose and Bob Palmer.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior.
