Martha Williams

Martha Williams, 77, resident of Hudson, WI, died peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, June 17, 2018 in Christian Community Homes in Hudson. She was born in Allentown, PA, February 21, 1941, the daughter of John F. (Lillian E.) Layton Sr.

She married Charles B. Williams Jr. and they celebrated twenty years of marriage before his passing.

Martha was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Superior, and a longtime member of “TOPS”. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and contributing to their delinquency by introducing them to scratch off's.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Kurtis) Schilling, Apple Valley, MN;

grandsons, Michael (Inah) Susens, Apple Valley, MN, Ryan (Josie) Susens, Duluth, MN and Brandon (Janine Franklin) Susens, Eagan, MN; great-grandchildren, Willow, Owen, Chad, and Atlas Susens; step-daughter, Sue Williams, Omaha, NE; step-sons, Mark (Lisa) Williams, Bethlehem, PA, Jim (Gail) Williams, South Beloit, IL, Pat (Denise) Williams, Milwaukee, WI, Tom (Mira Flor) Williams, San Diego, CA, and Chuckie Williams, Milwaukee, WI; several step-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Frank) Kovacs, Bethlehem, PA, Lorraine (Kenneth) Boyer, Allentown, PA, and Iris (Joseph) Unger, Whitehall, PA; brothers, James (Margorie) Layton, Allentown, PA, Bruce (Sharon) Layton, Villages, FL, and Edward (Darlene) Layton, Holden, MA; and a boatload of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her second husband, Charles Williams Jr.; her first husband, John Wagner; parents; sisters, Carol Kellision and Gail Layton; and brothers, John Layton Jr., Arthur Layton, Donald Layton, and Michael Layton.

A Celebration of Martha’s Life will be held from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior, with a Service of Remembrance at 5:00 PM. Pastor Dennis Paulson will officiate.
