Marvin A. Hermanson “Herm”, 79, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Brule, WI on Friday, June 27, 2025. He was born in Superior, WI on August 27, 1945 to Edwin and Elsie (Maki) Hermanson.
He attended Cooper and Erickson schools and graduated from Superior Central High in 1964. He served with the 724th Engineer Battalion of the National Guard as Staff Sergeant until 1971.
He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Fisher, on July 14, 1965, and was looking forward to celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary this summer.
Marvin was very proud of being a “North Ender” and of his Finnish heritage. His heart not only lay in his family, but also in his roots in the Oulu area and the community around him. He always had a story to share of his younger years in the woods of Oulu and as he got older, those stories started to turn to his experiences in the woods with his kids and grandkids. To Marvin, family was his world, and he loved nothing more than watching his family do the things they loved, especially if it involved hunting or anything outdoors.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Linda Hermanson; Sons: Ed Hermanson of Pinetop, AZ; Steve (Theresa) Hermanson of Brule, WI; and Matt (Shannon) Hermanson of Trego, WI. Grandchildren: Zach (Morgan) Hermanson of Brule, WI; Skylar Hermanson (Gage) of Superior, WI; Alyden Hermanson of Brule, WI; Elizabeth (Matt) Briggs of Surprise, AZ; and Thomas and Adam Hermanson of Pinetop, AZ. Great grandchildren: Allie and Emelia Bovee; Jake, Lillian, Damien and Serenity Hermanson of AZ. Special niece, Sherry Oaks (Jim Priebnow). Special daughter-in-law, Michelle Hermanson. Brothers-in-law, Greg Fisher and Scott (Jake) Fisher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Elsie Hermanson. Brothers: Edwin Jr. and Richard Hermanson. Sisters: Donna Mae and Gloria Oaks. Brother-in-law, Gary Oaks. Sister-in-law, Janice Fisher, Daughter-in-law, Deborah (Anderson) Hermanson. Father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Loretta (Vi) Fisher. And many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
