Mary Ann Van Damme

Mary Ann Van Damme, 82, longtime Superior resident, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at her home.

She was born on May 27, 1930 in Superior, WI to Joseph and Bridget (Manley) Tucker.
She was a graduate of the former Cathedral High School.

Mary Ann was an avid bingo player and passed this skill onto her grandchildren. She was a champion bowler and participated in local, state, and national championships. She was a knowledgeable tennis enthusiast. She enjoyed life through the success of her children and grandchildren.

Mary Ann is survived by one daughter, Nancy (Eugene) Brueggeman, Oconomowoc, WI; three sons, James and Scott Van Damme, both of Superior, WI and Keith (Beth) Van Damme, Crystal Lake, IL; fifteen grandchildren, Kristy, Michael, Patrick, Sarah, Erin, Brett, Erica, Brock, Kacey, Cody, Taylor, Brandon, Catherine, Christopher and Sean; three great-grandchildren, Taygen, Rylan and Trent; two brothers, David (Janice) Tucker, Ontonagon, MI and Michael Tucker, Superior, WI, many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Leona, Viola, Aileen and Mary Tucker, Virginia (Verlyn) Moore and Lorraine (Robert) LaJoie.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. “Bob” Van Damme, her parents, son Robert M. Van Damme, seven brothers, Joseph, James, Francis, Thomas, Patrick, John and Charles Tucker and two sisters Margaret White and Patricia Tucker.

Many thanks to her brother Mike for his daily visits and for all the little and big things he did for Mary Ann. Also a special thanks to sister-in-law Aileen Tucker for her love and friendship.

A Time of Remembrance visitation will be at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Moose Lodge, 66 E. 5th, Superior. Lunch will be served at 12 Noon and bingo at 1:00 PM.

Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the UWS Hockey Foundation, the Mary Ann and Robert Van Damme Fund.
