Mary L. Duerstock-Windsor

Mary Lois “Louie” Duerstock-Windsor, 53, longtime area resident, died peacefully on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at her home in Solon Springs, WI. She was born on July 7, 1970, in Hamilton, Ohio to Raymond and Mary (Cooke) Duerstock.

She graduated from Hamilton High School with the class of 1988. She later graduated summa cum laude from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, where she earned her degree in health information management, and once received the St. Loretta Scholastica Achievement Award.

Mary used her degree in the medical field working as a navigator for United Health Care for many years.

She was united in marriage to Leroy Windsor on September 4, 1999, in Superior, WI and they celebrated twenty-one years together before his passing in 2020.

Mary was a very spiritual and loyal woman who loved being with her family. Whether it was going on long drives, decorating or baking, she enjoyed every minute spent with her family and friends. She often talked about retiring and summering in Key West, FL so she could be close to the ocean and dolphins. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her son, Darin Windsor, Eau Clarie, WI; daughter, Marissa Windsor, Solon Springs, WI; mother, Mary Duerstock, Solon Springs; sister, Constance Duerstock, Superior; nieces, Emily, Nicole, Gina, Jade, and Justine Windsor; and nephews, Zachary Pfishtner, Shane Lucas, and Duke Windsor.

She is preceded in death by her father Raymond and nephew, Theodore “Teddy” Derick.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-6:00 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Roadhouse Bar, 9076 E. County Rd B in Hawthorne, WI.
