Mary E. Gerzic, 94, lifelong Superior area resident, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.
She was born on February 4, 1916 in Superior, WI to Joseph and Justina (Kerhardt) Depta.

She worked as a clerk for the former Scott's Dime Store and was a waitress at the former Cronstrom’s Restaurant for many years.

Mary was a longtime member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and its Altar Society. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court #1190, First Catholic Ladies Slovak Association, and the former St. Cyril and Methodius Church where she was a member of the choir.
She loved caring for people, loved cooking and spending time with family and friends at family gathering and also loved “china painting.”

Mary is survived by one son, James Gerzic, Lake Nebagamon, WI; one daughter, Kathleen Ann (J. D.) Woods, Winchester, TN; four grandchildren, Sean (Mary Ann), Kim, Lindsey (Mike) and Becky; five great-grandchildren, and seven great great-grandchilden; one sister, Helen Birch, Superior, WI.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, and six brothers and an infant son, Donald.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 10: 00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior.

The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Avenue, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
