Mary Margaret Gray

Mary Margaret Gray 93, lifelong resident of Superior, died on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Villa Marina Health & Rehabilitation in Superior. She was born on February 3, 1924 in Superior, the daughter of Charles and Mollie (Hennessy) Gray.

Mary graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Superior. She taught in Minneapolis for a few years and then in Superior where she taught until her retirement in 1985. After her retirement, Mary volunteered for the Right to Read program and also for the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine.

Mary was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and its Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters of the America Court 1190, a member of the former Women's Club of Superior, the Retired Teachers Association, and the Fidelis Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa.

She is survived by many cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Maurice and sister-in-law, Marge  Gray.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 2316 East Fourth Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, they may donate to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
