Mary Ellen Rich

Mary Rich (Moore), a longtime resident of Poplar, WI, passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

Mary was born in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Superior, WI on February 2, 1961. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Rich, brother Allen Moore and her parents Jeannette L. Woodhull and Robert J. Moore; her grandparents Irene E. (Smith) and Mervin G. Woodhull.

Mary is survived by her two sons Derek Rich of Poplar,  WI and Adam (Hailey) Rich and granddaughter Iyla, of Nashwauk, MN.

Mary worked in the community for many years as a Paraeducator at Northwestern Elementary School in Maple, WI and enjoyed her most recent employment at Clear Result as an outbound tele-sales representative. She was Deeply loved and respected by her coworkers.

Mary was a beloved family member, whose love for her family was immeasurable. She was the first born of several siblings, and the bond she shared with them was always filled with care. Mary found immense joy in spending time outdoors with her friends and family. Whether it was camping, fishing, boating, or a picnic at the lake, she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones.

Known for her spirit, Mary was at the heart of every gathering. She took on the role of caregiver with grace, always making sure that everyone was fed, safe, and enjoying themselves. Her cooking was legendary, and her concern for others, especially the children, never wavered. Mary’s presence was a constant source of comfort and security to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all of whom have had the privilege of knowing her.

A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held from 12:00-4:00 PM, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Amnicon Town Hall, 8985 E US Highway 2, South Range, WI 54874.
