Mary Frances Robek

Mary Frances Robek, 92, longtime Superior resident died, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Essentia Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born January 30, 1927, the daughter of Stephen and Mary Robek, and sister to Joseph robek.

Mary earned her Bachelor of Engineering at the UW, Whitewater and her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Michigan. Her Doctor of Philosphy was awarded by the University of Michigan.

Mary taught at Bergland, MI, Tony, WI and at the Vocational and Adult Education School, Superior, WI, before she took a position as Professor at Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI.

Mary wrote and published the textbooks she used in her university classes.

On retiring, she spent a year teaching in Poland and another year in her beloved country, Slovakia.

One word that could describe Mary perfectly would be, humble. She achieved many things in her life, but she always made everyone feel right at home with her sense of humor and acceptance. Faith was a cornerstone of Mary’s life. A daily Mass communicant, she also prayed her rosary everyday for all of us, and I’m sure she continues to pray for us, being held in the arms of our Lord, Jesus.

Visitation will begin with a rosary offered by the Catholic Daughters of America Court 1190 at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1410 Baxter Avenue, Superior, and will continue until the 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
