Mary K. Weldon, 98,formerly of 2608 John Ave., Superior, died Thursday, December 16, 2010 in St. Francis Home in the Park. She was born on April 19, 1912 to John and Anna (Jurasko) Galik in Pecsujfalu, Hungary.
Mary was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church; Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 1190; President of the former Cathedral High School PTA and she voluntarily set up and ran the St. Vincent DePaul store in Superior at the request of Bishop Annabring.
She was famous for the wedding cakes that she made for members of her family.
Mary loved gardening her flowers.
She is survived by three sons; Stephen “Steve” (Anna) Rindo, Eugene, OR, John (Marilyn) Rindo, Eau Claire, WI and Robert “Bob” (Dorothy) Rindo, Wisconsin Rapids, WI;one step-daughter, Judy Ayers, Brooklyn Park, MN; twelve grandchildren;four step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one brother, George Galik, Moquah, WI; one sister, Anne (Thomas) Johanik, Moquah, WI and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Rindo; her second husband, Joseph Weldon; her parents; two brothers, Joseph and Steve Galik and an infant brother, John.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Downs-LeSage Funeral Home, 1304 Hammond Ave., Superior, with a CDA Rosary scheduled for 6:00 PM that evening.
Visitation will continue at 10:30 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, December 20, 2010 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
