Matthew M. Magdzas

Matthew M. Magdzas, 23, Superior resident, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his residence.
He was born on May 10, 1987 in El Cento, CA to Marianne Bergren and Donald Magdzas.

Matthew graduated in 2005 from Superior High School. He served his country in the Wisconsin Army National Guard with the 950th Clearance Company. He proudly served overseas from 2006-2007 with the 57th Field Artillery Brigade, Charlie Company, 1-121 Field Artillery Battalion.

He married April Oles on August 19, 2009 and they had a beautiful daughter, Lila Jean on July 19, 2009.

Matthew was a member of the Lake Superior Pointing Dog Club. He loved spending time outdoors fishing and trapping.

He is survived by his mother, Marianne (Jim) Bergren; his father, Donald (Lauri) Magdzas; two sisters, Megan, and Macey; stepsisters, Jodi, Amy and Macey; stepbrothers, Thomas, Samuel, Jason and Alex; grandmothers, Trudy Bergren and Doris Magdzas; mother-in-law, Susan Ulsby; father-in-law, Gene Oles; brother-in-law, Ben Oles and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Eugene Bergren and Donald J. Magdzas.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church and continue until the 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant and Rev. Fr. Daniel Dahlberg as co-celebrant.

Matthew, April and Lila will be sadly missed by all their family and friends.
