Maureen Ann Russom

Maureen Ann Russom, 74, resident of Menasha, WI, formerly of Brainerd, MN died peacefully Wednesday, March 24, 2021. She was born in Superior, WI on February 22, 1947, the daughter of Gene and Eva (Robertson) Rooney.

Maureen graduated high school and went on to further her education at Bemidji Radiology School. She worked as an X-ray tech for many years before retiring from Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, MN.

Maureen’s favorite pastimes were finding hidden treasures at Goodwill or yard sales and restoring them to their former glory (or better), showing off her baking skills for eager fans, working in her garden, and reading. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her son, Joe (Alayne) Russom, and their children, Sydney, Jared, and Haley, all from Menasha, WI; daughter, Sarah Russom, Chicago, IL; her beloved pooch and partner in crime, Spencer; sisters, Marlys (John) Schuerman, Burlington, WI, Martha (Bob) Byrne, Superior, WI, and Mary (Don) Peterson, Superior, WI; brothers, Michael (Vicki) Rooney, St. Paul, MN, and Mark (Pam) Rooney, Littlefork, MN; sister-in-law, Marnie Rooney; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Pete Rooney; former husband and father of her children, Ronn Russom; and her parents, Gene and Eva Rooney.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 23, 2021 at Cathedral of Christ the King Catholic Church, 1111 Belknap Street, Superior, and will continue until the 11:00 AM Memorial Mass of Christian Burial with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Superior.
