Melvin H. Hill, Jr.

Melvin H. Hill, Jr., 55, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Bayshore Health Center in Duluth.

He was born on November 21, 1959 in Duluth to Melvin H. Hill, Sr and Beverly Hudson.

Mel served 16 years in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division and served five combat tours.

He is survived by three children, Melissa Powe-Mathison, Diane Hill and Paul Hill; four brothers, Ron (Leona) Garrick, Marty (Kathy) Garrick, Tom (Wendy) Giddings, Mike (Rose) Giddings; two sisters, Laurene (Jessie) Tramell, Sandy Giddings, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ricky Giddings and a sister, Melinie Councilman.

Per Mel’s request, no services will be held.

The Lenroot-Maetzold Funeral Home, 1209 East 5th Street, Superior is assisting the family with arrangements.
